Communication Leadership
A new series of excellence case studies is now available as a free resource on the IABC web site.
Featuring Stu Reed, an executive vice president at Motorola and 2007 IABC EXCEL Award winner, the series looks beyond simple executive sound bites for the qualities that set communication leaders apart from the rest of their field.
The series aims to help communicators who counsel and support the most senior people in their organisations — those looking to make the business case for communication.
For example, in Case study #1 Stu Reed talks about about how Motorola’s company-wide value system, “i’MOTO”, enables open and honest communication, leading to increased cohesion in the workplace. He focuses on straight-talk, one of four central tenets of the “i’MOTO” program. This program enables direct and honest communication between the diverse cultural mix of 36,000 employees from 17 different manufacturing plants, leading to increased respect, accountability, and measurably increased the industry ranking of Motorola’s supply chain.
